When my mother first moved down here a few years ago, we were so happy to be back together, that we would spend hours doing crafts together. I would spend the weekend drinking coffee, laughing, listening to 70's music.. just spending time with each other doing something we both loved to do. Crafting.
My mother truly is my best friend. She used to be shy and let people walk all over her, but, she realizes more and more that is she is important and we relish in how much alike we really are. So, this year, while I am going to do a trinket a day, I will be doing it more often with my mother. More weekends will be spent with her, guilt free, laughing, drinking coffee and creating creating creating. I think there will be times I will posting photos of what she will be making as well.
I'm also going to test the waters in painting.. I always have ideas in my head, but I'm afraid I'm not experienced in doing so. I'm going to invest in some nice paints, a an easel and a few canvases. Most likely they will not be traditional paintings, something of my own design, maybe a collage/painting, maybe even including my photography. Creativity!
PS-I will openly admit that I am trying very hard to wait until tomorrow to start this adventure. I'm nervous yet excited, to test the waters of my abilities... I'm also anxious to see everyone's projects.

ReplyDelete*chuckles* I called mom asking her if she wanted to help me, needless to say she was more than thrilled. I told her what I wanted to do, and she said "You might have to make one for me too".. lol.. I will practice patience!
